Writing and not writing

I'm going to try this again. I'm going to write and plan and become a writer. I am a writer. I’m a writer who is very good at not writing. At procrastinating. At wanting and needing and longing to write but still not writing. That is changing. I wrote 50,000+ words last November for NaNoWriMo. I didn’t finish the novel, though. But I’m close. So close. I’m setting myself a goal—finish the first draft for my birthday (October 8).

There. There’s a goal, written down. Out loud (so to speak). In public. And I am going to do it. And I’m going to report on it, and the books I’m reading, and all things writing related, right here in this blog. Where maybe somebody will read it. And maybe someone will ask how I’m doing, wonder how it’s going, give me a poke if I don’t write for a while. And maybe that someone will be me. Or maybe you? I guess we’ll see.

Consider yourself poked. Just for practice. ;) Get that first draft rolling!

Did you mean for the goal to be obscured? Or is this just a case of obscurity run amuck?
